The term “Seoulmates” refers to a group of German and Korean graffiti artists whose thematic focus is
on character and figurative aerosol spray can art.
In 2006, the half-Korean German Christian Yun-Song Meyerholz from Braunschweig met the two
Korean graffiti artists Jay und Joe when he was on a family visit in Seoul. Since then the contact
has intensified and so far lead to two Seoulmates Tours in Europe and South Korea.
The first tour took place in Europe in 2007. The tour whichcalled in Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt,
Mainz and Barcelona started and ended Braunschweig, Germany.
As part of this trip the Seoulmates artists met numerous famous graffiti artists from all over
Europe such as Pez, Numi, Malicia and Can2.
In august 2008 the Soeulmates Crew toured South Korea where the art tour created a lot of
attraction in Seoul and Busan. Accompanied by a German camera crew several large concept walls
up to 100 sqm were painted in both cities.
In 2009, the Seoulmates Tour will take place in Germany again. With customised cars the tour
will call in Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Mainz, Köln,(Paris), Barcelona and Amsterdam. As
part of this trip the Seoulmates crew will meet famous graffiti artists of the particular regions
and will work on collaborations as well as street art exhibitions.
